Winter

Winter embraces the lands
With twisted and bony hands
A desolate dying dawn
This life is forever gone
I’m longing to see the day
To feel the sun of may
Daylight I’ve left behind
And darkness is all I find

In the cold bleak lands of winter I await
My heart is void and dead
This was my fate
I hope I’ll meet you in another life
In a place beyond all sorrow and strife

Embraced by the endless night
At last I am free inside
Under these darkened skies
I’m saying my last goodbyes
I close my eyes and fade
Nothing but a withered shade
My heart is turning cold
As secrets of night unfold
